Air distribution performance depends heavily on airtight jointing. Duct fitters seal longitudinal and transverse joints using approved mastic sealant and gasketed slip-on flanges (TDF/TDC) to SMACNA air duct leakage test requirements, which reduces the risk of failed leakage tests.
