Scaffolding supervision

Aramco-Approved Scaffolding Supervisors for Saudi Sites

Gulf Orbit supplies Aramco-approved scaffolding supervisors for sites that require one, and non-Aramco supervisors for sites that do not. The approval belongs to each supervisor personally, not to Gulf Orbit as a company. Supervisors can be supplied on their own, with TUV-carded scaffolders and helpers, or as part of a full scaffolding package with material, anywhere in Saudi Arabia.

What a scaffolding supervisor does on site

The supervisor runs the scaffold crew day to day. Before work starts, the supervisor reads the drawing or work-front list, plans the erection sequence and the material each bay needs, and briefs the crew on the site's permit, working-at-height and exclusion-zone rules. During erection the supervisor checks bracing, ties, platforms, guardrails and toe boards against the design and the site's scaffold procedure, and when a structure is ready, brings it to the inspection and tagging step your site uses before handover.

On a live plant the role grows: scaffolds are modified as the mechanical work moves, permits are renewed shift by shift, and the supervisor is the person your site team talks to about every change. That is why plants often ask for supervision as a named requirement rather than leaving it to the most senior scaffolder.

With Aramco approval or without: which your site needs

Aramco facilities, and many contractors working on them, set their own scaffolding requirements, including approval of the people who supervise scaffold work. If your contract or the facility's procedure asks for an Aramco-approved scaffolding supervisor, say so in the RFQ, and only supervisors who hold that approval are proposed. A copy of the supervisor's approval card is sent with the CV for your approval before mobilization.

Building sites, commercial projects and many non-Aramco plants do not need it. A non-Aramco supervisor with experience of the scaffold system and the type of work is then the usual choice. If you are not sure, send the facility name and the clause or procedure reference, and the requirement is confirmed before quoting.

Supervisors with a crew, or on their own

Most requests pair a supervisor with TUV-carded scaffolders, lead men and helpers, sized to the number of work fronts and shifts. Where your own team or another supplier already erects the scaffold, a supervisor can be supplied alone to lead and check that work under your direction.

For a turnaround or a plant with several units, plan one supervisor per group of work fronts rather than one for the whole site, so each crew has someone who knows its scaffolds. The right number depends on the spread of the work, the shifts and your site's rules, so send the work-front list and the shift pattern.

Documents you receive before mobilization

For each supervisor proposed you receive the CV, showing the systems and types of work, the Aramco approval card copy where your site requires it, and any other card your site asks for. Every worker completes Gulf Orbit's safety induction before deployment, and the record is kept. Your site's own induction and any specialised training are confirmed per site.

Supervisors and crews mobilize 48–72 hours from purchase order for in-Kingdom personnel, subject to worker documents and site approvals. Facility gate passes and authorisation can take longer than the journey, so send the gate-pass list with the RFQ.

Scaffolding supervisor questions

Do you supply Aramco-approved scaffolding supervisors?

Yes. Aramco-approved scaffolding supervisors are available for sites that require one; each holds the approval personally, and a copy of the approval card is sent with the CV before mobilization.

Does Gulf Orbit hold Aramco approval as a company?

No. The approval is held by each supervisor personally, not by Gulf Orbit as a company.

Can I hire a scaffolding supervisor without scaffolders?

Yes. A supervisor can be supplied alone to lead and check scaffold work by your own team or another supplier, under your site's direction.

Do you also supply non-Aramco supervisors?

Yes. For building, commercial and non-Aramco industrial sites, a non-Aramco supervisor with experience of the system and the work is the usual choice.

Who inspects and tags the scaffold?

That follows your site's scaffold procedure. The supervisor brings each structure to the inspection and tagging step your site uses before it is handed over.

How fast can a supervisor start?

In-Kingdom personnel mobilize 48–72 hours from purchase order, subject to worker documents and site approvals; facility authorisation can add time.

For material and crew together, see scaffolding rental and erection; for scaffolders without material, see scaffolder supply.
