A scaffolding crew is more than a headcount of scaffolders. It usually combines scaffolders who erect, modify and dismantle; helpers who move and stage material so scaffolders keep building; and a supervisor who plans the sequence, works with your permit system and is your daily contact. On Saudi industrial sites, scaffolders commonly need a TUV scaffolding card, and the card level should match the scaffold work the site allows. TUV-carded scaffolders are available, and both Aramco-certified and non-Aramco workers are available where a site asks for one or the other. Card copies are sent with the CVs for your approval before mobilization.

Most plants run a scaffold tag system, commonly green, yellow and red tags, under their own procedure. Say in the RFQ who inspects and tags each scaffold, so the crew and the handover are planned around it.

Scaffolders are matched to the system the site runs: cuplock, ringlock, kwikstage or tube-and-fitting. The systems differ in how they are erected, how they are modified and what the scaffold inspector checks, so name the system in the RFQ. In a shutdown, scaffolding is the first trade on site and the last to leave. Structures go up in the weeks before the window, change while equipment is opened and repaired, and come down after box-up. The trades that run out first in a busy season are usually scaffolders, welders and riggers, so send the window dates as soon as they are fixed. On buildings, towers and hotels the scaffold rises with the structure and changes as trades move from frame to envelope to finishes. Facade access, tie-ins and protection for the area below are planned with the programme. Send the elevations, heights and the programme by phase, so the crew grows and shrinks with the building rather than carrying the peak headcount for the whole job.
