King Salman Energy Park (SPARK) is a planned industrial city of around 50 square kilometres for energy-sector manufacturing, services and logistics. EPC contractors, industrial builders and the tenants that move in need documented civil and mechanical crews for construction, equipment installation, commissioning and, later, day-to-day operations.

Served from the Eastern Province offices

SPARK sits on the corridor between Dammam and Al-Ahsa, outside the cities, and is served from Gulf Orbit's Dammam head office and Jubail Industrial City branch. There is no office at SPARK. Because the park is a drive from the nearest towns, daily transport and accommodation are part of most requirements and are quoted on request.

An industrial city still being built

SPARK is a large energy-industry city built in phases, so many requirements are construction work on new plots: earthworks and foundations, reinforced concrete, steel structure erection and the installation of process equipment. That draws on steel fixers, shuttering carpenters, masons and civil foremen for the civil phase, then erectors, riggers, welders and fitters for steel and equipment. Send the phase you are in, so the crew moves from civil to mechanical trades as your plot progresses rather than being sized once.

From construction to operations

As facilities in SPARK move from construction to commissioning and operations, the requirement changes again: E&I technicians and industrial electricians for commissioning, mechanical fitters for rotating equipment, and smaller maintenance crews once the plant runs. Tenants at that stage often need the same workers to stay for continuity. Tell us whether your facility is under construction, commissioning or operating, and the expected duration, so the right mix and continuity are planned.

Gate passes in a managed park

SPARK is a managed industrial zone, so worker and vehicle access runs through its own gate-pass process in addition to any plant or contractor induction. The access lead time is often longer than the travel time. Share the park and plot access requirements with the RFQ, so worker names and documents are submitted early and the start date allows for approval.

Logistics and warehouse facilities

SPARK includes logistics facilities alongside its industrial plots, where materials and equipment for energy projects are received, stored and dispatched. That work needs handling crews rather than construction trades: forklift operators, storekeepers who control stock and certificates, heavy drivers, riggers for oversized items and helpers. State the facility, the equipment on site and the stock system, so operators and storekeepers matched to your set-up are put forward.

Working in an inland desert location

Unlike the coastal cities, SPARK is inland, with dry heat, dust and sandstorms. Dust and wind can stop lifting and work at height, and summer temperatures shape the working day as much as on the coast. Crews there need proper shade, water and rest areas at the plot, and schedules that allow for weather stoppages. Share your site's weather and heat-stress rules, so the programme and the crew size allow for them.

Aramco develops and maintains its infrastructure with MODON, and its first phase includes a logistics zone with a dry port run with Hutchison Ports. Tenants are energy-sector manufacturers and service companies, and the park is still being built out in phases, so much of the work is building and fitting out new facilities rather than turnarounds on old plant.
