Yanbu's welding demand comes from refinery and petrochemical piping, export pipelines and terminals, the power and desalination complex, and fabrication yards serving them. Much of it is carbon-steel pipe to radiography standard, with stainless and alloy piping in process units and utilities. Plants test every welder on arrival, so the value of a welder crew is measured by how many pass the site test, not by headcount alone.
'6G welders' is a start, but a Yanbu plant tests to its own welding procedure: process (TIG root with stick fill, or full TIG), material (carbon steel, stainless, chrome-moly), pipe diameter and wall thickness, and whether the joints go to radiography. Send the WPS or at least those variables, and welders are proposed whose previous WPQ records match, which is what decides the site test.
Process units and the desalination and power plants use stainless and alloy piping where TIG with argon purging is required. Those welders are a narrower group than carbon-steel pipe welders, so state the material and purge requirements early. Pipe fitters who can fit up to tight tolerances matter as much as the welder on these joints; request them together.
Each welder's CV is sent with their previous WPQ records and trade documents for your review before mobilization, and every worker completes Gulf Orbit's safety induction before deployment. Welders are qualified by procedure test, not by TUV card. If the plant runs its own test on arrival, tell us the test date, so welders arrive in time to sit it before the first shift.
