Gulf Orbit workers have been deployed through contractors on projects in and around Jazan, including the Jazan refinery project (Baish) and Jazan Entertainment Complex. Project experience and what it means
What drives demand here
Jazan is two markets for a manpower supplier. The industrial side is the refinery at Baish and the Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries (JCPDI) around it, with the port, power and utility plants that serve them. The city side is Jazan itself: the waterfront, entertainment and tourism projects, housing, roads and public buildings. The two need different crews, and both sit at the far end of a cross-country journey from the Eastern Province, so the request has to be planned as one complete crew.
Refinery and JCPDI plant work
Refinery and downstream work in Baish and JCPDI uses the same trades as the east-coast plants: mechanical fitters, pipe fitters and fabricators, 6G and TIG welders, riggers, mobile crane operators, E&I technicians and industrial electricians, with scaffolders for access and helpers throughout. Plant work is a mix of maintenance between shutdowns, project tie-ins and outage windows. State which one your request is, because a maintenance crew stays for months while an outage crew is planned around fixed dates. Welders are accepted by a WPQ test to your welding procedure, so send the procedure with the RFQ.
City, waterfront and civil projects
Jazan city projects need civil and finishing crews rather than plant trades: steel fixers, shuttering carpenters, masons and plasterers on the structure, scaffolders on facades, then electricians, plumbers, duct and AC technicians, tile fixers and painters as buildings close in. Send the programme by stage, with a headcount for each stage, so the crew changes shape as the project moves from structure to finishes instead of carrying one trade mix for the whole programme.
A cross-country crew from the Eastern Province
Gulf Orbit's offices are in Dammam, Jubail Industrial City and Al Khobar, so a Jazan crew travels the length of the Kingdom. Mobilization still takes 48–72 hours from purchase order for in-Kingdom personnel, subject to worker documents and site approvals. Accommodation and daily transport are quoted on request. Because the distance makes a missing trade expensive to add later, list every trade and headcount at the start, and include a foreman or supervisor who stays on site as your daily contact.
Heat, humidity and working hours in the southwest
Jazan is hot and humid for most of the year, and outdoor work stops for the midday break in summer. Plants and city sites often run early and late shifts to keep output up through the hot months. Share the site's working hours, shift pattern and rest-break rules in the RFQ, so the headcount is planned for the hours that can actually be worked and any night shift has its own supervision.
Gate access and cards on industrial sites
Industrial sites in JCPDI and the refinery set their own access rules. TUV-carded workers are available for trades that require a TUV card, such as scaffolders, riggers and crane operators, and both Aramco-certified and non-Aramco workers are available where a site asks for one or the other. CVs and card copies are sent for your approval before mobilization, and worker documents are reviewed per project. Send the gate-pass process with the RFQ: on a site this far from the crew base, approvals that start early keep the start date.
State the rigger level your site requires (Gulf Orbit supplies Level III riggers), the quantity, whether TUV or Aramco cards are required, and the crane type and capacity on site.
State the scaffold system (tube and fitting or system scaffold), the work type (building or industrial), the heights involved, and whether TUV or Aramco cards are required.
No. Jazan is served from Gulf Orbit's offices in Dammam, Jubail Industrial City and Al Khobar.
